How it works
Three phases. The first happens once. After that, installing a tool and connecting an app to it are single actions you repeat as your estate grows — and every one of them writes to your accounts, not ours.
Install the GitHub App
RequiredChoose the organisations and repositories Scalpels can see. Forks land in the organisation you pick, and you can narrow or revoke access from GitHub at any time.
Add a Laravel Cloud key
RequiredA scoped API key for the Laravel Cloud account that will host the tools. Everything Scalpels provisions from here lands in that account, on your bill.
Add a Forge key
OptionalOnly if some of your apps run on Forge. It lets those sites appear alongside your Cloud apps as connection targets — the tools themselves still deploy to Cloud.
Forked into your GitHub
The repository is created inside your own organisation. You own it from the first commit and keep it whatever happens to your Scalpels account.
Review the resources
We read the app's manifest and pre-select the minimum it needs to run. Nothing is hidden: adjust sizes or add what you want before anything is created.
Deploy
One button. Scalpels provisions exactly what you approved on your Laravel Cloud account, deploys the app, and hands you the management screen.
Need to resize a database or add a worker after the fact? Do it in Laravel Cloud. Their console is excellent and it is your account — we would only be putting a worse screen in front of it.
Every app you run — on Laravel Cloud or Forge — shows up in your dashboard. Click the tool you want it wired to and Scalpels does the plumbing.
Credentials written to the app
The token and the URL of your tool's environment go straight into the consuming app's environment. Nothing to copy between two consoles.
A draft PR if a package is needed
When the tool needs a client package, we open a draft pull request that installs and configures it. You read the diff, you merge it. We never push to your default branch.
Connected
Telemetry tools start reporting the moment the PR merges. Tools you call directly — background removal, for instance — are ready to use as soon as you write the call.

Whatever Laravel charges you, on your own account — Scalpels never sits between you and that bill. Credits and plans pay for Scalpels alone.
Your plan stays unlimited until the end of the billing period you have already paid for. After that the team drops to the per-credit tier automatically — including every team an agency created — and everything already provisioned keeps running, because it lives in your GitHub and your Laravel Cloud account and there is nothing for us to tear down. Installing a new product or attaching a new app means subscribing again or buying credits.
